Nancy Louise (Garrett) Galvin

Nancy Louise (Garrett) Harwood Galvin, age 77, of Crawfordsville, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023 at Franciscan Health Lafayette. She was born in Crawfordsville to the late Ottie Alexander Garrett and Nada Louise (Stockton) Demoret.

Nancy attended Crawfordsville Schools. She married Richard Wayne Harwood and he preceded her in death. She then married Marvin Eugene Galvin and he preceded her in death on January 10, 2017. She worked as a maid at the Days Inn and a nurses aid at the Lane House Nursing Home. She was a member at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses of Crawfordsville. Nancy enjoyed crocheting and loved animals; horses, dogs, and raised giant Plymouth rabbits. In her younger years she enjoyed challenging anyone to race cars. She had a pet goat as a little girl and the goat would pull her around in her little red wagon. Nancy had a rough childhood and adult life, but always kept people laughing. She will be missed.

Nancy is survived by her children, Nada L. Best, Richard W. Harwood and Theresa A. Harwood; and her friend Eileen Manwarring.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ottie and Nada; husbands, Richard and Marvin; and her son, Daniel J. Harwood.
