Rosalie Sue (Brown) Neal

Rosalie Sue (Brown) Neal, age 84 of Crawfordsville passed on to a place prepared for all who put their faith and trust in Christ Jesus, our Savior, on Friday morning, June 28, 2019 at Ben Hur Nursing and Rehabilitation.

She was born February 27, 1935 to the late Edward “Newt” & Mabel (Deringer) Brown. She was a 1953 graduate of Hillsboro High School and on September 20, 1953 she married Charles E. Neal, also from Hillsboro. He proceeded her in death in 2000.

Rosalie taught Sunday School for several years. She was a true caretaker, giving of herself in so many ways. When she was first married, she worked as a proof-reader at R.R. Donnelley & Sons. Later she went to work as a baker at Crawfordsville High School. She finished working at North Montgomery High School from 1971-2000. She loved being around the kids and they loved her yeast rolls and giant cookies. She loved talking on the phone and loved her trips to the water in Michigan.

She is survived by two daughters, Lori A. (Ken) Erny of Michigan and Linda J. (Larry) Rush of Crawfordsville; 7 grandchildren, Amber Cordvan, Andrew (Danielle) Rush, Mindy Erny, Steve (Jacqui) Erny, Jon (Breckley) Erny, Jess Erny, and Kyra Neal; 6 great-grandchildren, Jack Rush, Cole Rush, Charles Erny, Isabelle Erny, David Erny and Rosalie Erny; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; a son, David Neal; sister, Eleanor Ann Cox; and brother-in-law, Harold “Dane” Cox.

Visitation will be at East Side Baptist Church, 2000 Traction Road, in Crawfordsville on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 from 10:00am till the time of the funeral service at 11:00am with Pastor Steve Whicker officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hillsboro. Memorial donations may be given to the East Side Baptist Church in her memory. Sanders Priebe Funeral Care entrusted with care.
