Joseph Lee Walters

Joseph Lee Walters, age 87 of Crawfordsville passed away Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Franciscan Health Lafayette. He was born in Berea, Kentucky on September 20, 1932 to the late Henry Joseph and Dessa (Lambert) Walters.

He attended school in Berea, Kentucky. Joseph married the love of his life Winnie Pearl (Tarter) on July 6, 1957 in Greencastle. Throughout the years, Joseph worked as a truck driver and drove the yellow and red taxicab here in Crawfordsville. He was a member of the Moose lodge. Joseph enjoyed spending time with his dog, dancing, going out to eat, visiting Boot City in Terre Haute, and he especially loved his cowboy boot collection.

He is survived by 6 children, Peggy Waldon, Mike Walters, Deena (Dennis) Renoll, Martin Walters, Robin Walters, and Anthony (Izabel) Walters; 15 grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Winnie; 2 sisters, Mary Parker and Margaret Daniels; brother, Ron Walters; and grandchildren, Desi Walters and Michael Justin.

Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care 315 S. Washington Street in Crawfordsville on Saturday, March 21, 2020 from 2:00 pm until the time of funeral service at 4:00 pm. Cremation will follow the service. Share memories and condolences online at sandersfuneralcare.com
