Eleanor E (Middleton) Peterman

Eleanor Eileen (Middleton) Peterman, age 78 of Crawfordsville passed away on January 8, 2019 at Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville.  She was born in Crawfordsville on March 26, 1940 to the late Robert & Geneva (Hamm) Middleton.

Eleanor graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1958 and then attended beauty college.  She married the love of her life, Richard L. Peterman on May 3, 1959.  Throughout the years she worked at Miller’s Locker Plant, was a secretary for Dr. Claude Thompson in Waynetown, worked at various flower shops, and was a substitute teacher for the North Montgomery School district.  She was a member of Christ’s United Methodist Church and enjoyed decorating homes, arranging flowers, and loved the Christmas season, always going above and beyond for her family. She loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard; three daughters, Dee (Denny) Hohlbein of Crawfordsville, Jan (Wes) Hammond of Greencastle and Mendy (Dan) Southard of Crawfordsville; one brother, Bob Middleton and one sister, Jane (Bill) Remley, both of Crawfordsville; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son-in-law, Terry Bartell.

Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S Washington Street in Crawfordsville on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 12:00pm till the time of the funeral service at 2:00pm.  Burial will follow at Oak Hill North Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County, 1104 Big Four Arch Road, Crawfordsville, IN 47933.  Share memories and condolences online at www.sandersfuneralcare.com
