Starlet Sue (Poynter) Powers

Starlet Sue Powers went home to Jesus at 3:16 pm on July 28, 2019. She passed away at home surrounded by her family.,

She was born November 25, 1942 to Gerald (Shorty) and LaVerne Poynter of Russellville. She graduated from New Market High School in 1960.

Starlet married Larry Powers on June 10, 1962. He survives. Larry and Starlet were farmers around New Market for many years. Starlet later worked as a bank teller at Union Federal Savings and Loan. Starlet had a beautiful soprano voice. She loved cardinals, baskets and old barns but her greatest joy came from her children and her grandchildren.

Starlet is survived by Larry, her husband of 57 years; her son Scott (Andrea) Powers of Wyoming, OH; her daughter Melody (David) Peacock of Ladoga; her three grandchildren, Hannah (Jake) Slinkman of Carol Stream, IL, Josh Peacock of Ladoga and Harry Powers of Wyoming, OH.; and her brother Mitch Poynter of Crawfordsville.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Vaugh Poynter.

Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S Washington St, in Crawfordsville on Saturday, August 3, 2019 from 11:00am till the time of the memorial service at 1:00pm with Todd Randles officiating. Burial will follow at Hebron Cemetery in Russellville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Montgomery County Animal Welfare League, 1104 Big Four Arch Rd, Crawfordsville, IN 47933.
