Michael Wayne Hesler, age 72 of Alamo passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at home while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Crawfordsville on July 25, 1946 to the late Robert & Beauton (Sering) Hesler.
Michael graduated from Crawfordsville High School and married the love of his life, Kathy (Stevens) Hesler on November 28, 1980, who survives. Throughout the years he worked at Sears, Midstates Steel and Wire, and Traction Auto Parts. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, model trains, making metal miniatures, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Hesler; two sons, Michael (Sheri) Hesler and Scott (Jennifer) Hesler; two daughters, Tami Hesler, and Kelly Cooper; a step son, Risty (Gee Soo) Thompson; a step daughter, Misty (Charlie) Lewis; aunt Mary Jane Sering; a brother-in-law, Gary Bell; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Vicki Bell and Chetra Hesler; and uncle Don Sering.
There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering at the Ripley Township Fire Department on Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 3-5pm. Burial of cremains will be at Alamo Cemetery at a later date.
